We may update this Privacy Notice as Haven Pets develops or where our legal, technical or business practices change.

The latest version will always be published on the Haven Pets website with the date it was last updated.

Who we are?

Haven Pets develops practical pet-care products designed to make keeping track of animal care easier, clearer and more organised.

For the purposes of data protection law, Haven Pets is responsible for the personal information described in this Privacy Notice.

Information we collect

Depending on how you interact with Haven Pets, we may collect information including:

  • your name;

  • your email address;

  • information you voluntarily provide about the animals you care for;

  • your current pet-care and record-keeping habits;

  • your interest in testing Haven Pets products;

  • feedback you provide during product testing;

  • your communication and marketing preferences; and

  • any other information you choose to provide through our forms or communications.

Please do not provide unnecessary personal or sensitive information when completing Haven Pets forms.

Why we use your information

We may use your personal information to:

  • assess your suitability for Haven Pets product-testing opportunities;

  • contact you about relevant testing opportunities;

  • organise and manage product-testing programmes;

  • collect and analyse feedback to improve Haven Pets products;

  • respond to questions or messages you send us;

  • maintain appropriate business and testing records; and

  • send Haven Pets news, product updates and launch information where you have chosen to receive marketing communications.

Our lawful basis for using your information

We only use personal information where we have a lawful basis under UK data protection law.

For marketing communications, we rely on your consent where you have actively chosen to receive Haven Pets news, product updates or launch information. You can withdraw this consent at any time by contacting hello@havenpets.uk or using any unsubscribe option provided.

For other uses of personal information, Haven Pets will identify and document the appropriate lawful basis before processing the information.

Tester Interest Information

When you submit a Haven Pets tester-interest form, we use the information you provide to understand which products may be relevant to you and to assess whether you may be suitable for a testing opportunity.

Registering your interest does not guarantee selection as a tester.

Unless you are selected for testing or agree to remain in a future tester pool, tester-interest information will normally be deleted within six months of submission.

Marketing

Signing up for product testing does not automatically sign you up for marketing.

Marketing consent is requested separately. You may withdraw your marketing consent at any time without affecting your ability to take part in current or future product testing.

How we store your information

Haven Pets may use third-party services, including Google Workspace and Google Forms, to collect, organise and store information.

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from unauthorised access, loss, misuse or disclosure.

Sharing your information

We do not sell your personal information.

We may share information with service providers that help Haven Pets operate its website, communications, forms, data storage or other business systems where this is necessary.

Where third parties process personal information on behalf of Haven Pets, we will take appropriate steps to ensure the information is protected.

International data transfers

Some technology providers used by Haven Pets may process or store information outside the UK.

Where personal information is transferred internationally, we will use appropriate safeguards where required by data protection law.

How long we keep information

We do not keep personal information for longer than reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected.

In particular:

  • unsuccessful or inactive tester-interest information will normally be retained for no more than six months;

  • selected tester information may be retained for longer where necessary to manage testing and maintain appropriate product-development records; and

  • marketing information will be retained while you remain subscribed or where limited records need to be retained to honour an opt-out.

We will periodically review information we hold and delete or anonymise information that is no longer required.

Your Rights

Depending on the circumstances, you may have rights over your personal information, including the right to:

  • ask for a copy of the information we hold about you;

  • ask us to correct inaccurate information;

  • ask us to delete information;

  • ask us to restrict how information is used;

  • object to certain uses of your information;

  • withdraw consent where we rely on consent; and

  • make a complaint about how your information has been handled.
